My wiki

I'm in the process of creating a wiki page on our map resouces for specific users, e.g. people doing site assessments, historians, genealogists, etc. I had a little trouble getting the images to display the way I wanted them to, but you get the idea. I found out that images saved as jpgs worked best for me.

RSS

Today I created an RSS feed account on Bloglines as part of my Blue 2.0 assignment and subscribed to several feeds including Blue 2.0 and The Weather Channel. I've not yet found any map related feeds that I'm interested in. If I find any later this week I'll be sure to post them here.

Instant messaging

As a Blue 2.0 assignment I've created an AIM account. If you would like to contact me via AIM, my screen name is KYMapRef though I don't anticipate using this method of communication at work very often. Email is enough of a distraction for me, I don't really need another.

Science Library Renovation Update

It looks like the renovation of King Library Addition is moving forward. The architect conducted a walkthrough for potential contractors yesterday (1/17). There had been speculation that recent budget cuts might put a freeze on the project.

Sanborn maps online

The word from Digital Programs is that they are doing quality control on the Kentucky Sanborn map images scanned so far and they hope to have them in production by the end of January.
